Welcome tot Kgaka Safaris
We are situated in the Limpopo Province of South Africa in a legendary hunting area called the Bushveld.
The farm is situated near the settlement of Alldays, about 5 hours' drive from Johannesburg. Frans Toerien and his wife
Isobel run Kgaka Safaris as a family business and they will be your hosts during your safari. The word "kgaka"
means "guinea fowl" in the local African language Northern-Sotho.The guinea fowl a common wild bird found in abundance
in the area.
We are geared to accommodate the absolute beginner as well as the well-travelled client. Friends hunting together,
father and son hunts, women hunters - this is the ideal place to share an unforgettable experience with your family and to spend quality time with them. We believe in hunting as a fair chase, defined as the pursuit of a free-ranging animal,
or an enclosed animal, showing natural behaviour or the inclination to escape from the hunter and
being completely free to do so.All sport-hunted animals should be sustained within an ecologically functional system
and the search for a suitable trophy should be a chase without the guarantee of eventual success. The responsibility therefore remains ours, a burden we shoulder happily.
The farm consists of 17 000 acres of bushveld with plains game roaming the area. Carnivores include the brown hyena, cheetah, jackal, leopard and lynx.
